Natural Skincare For Cold Weather

As winter approaches most of us are going to be facing the prospect of drier skin. Unfortunately for for those who have more sensitive skin the problem can be even worse. You can suffer from redness, skin irritation and breakouts. This is where natural skincare products can be excellent. So what can be done to combat this and make sure that your skin doesn’t suffer from the harsh weather? What should be your essentials this winter?

Many will just think that to combat dryness you just need a thicker moisturizer. This of course is quite logical, but you really need to think on your overall skincare routine. This is a vital part of caring for your skin. So let’s start with the cleanser. When your skin is dry and irritated then you need a cleanser that is mild and soothing. I really like Lavera Basis Sensitive 2 in 1 Cleansing Milk. This is good for all skin types, but especially for sensitive skin. Also, if you can, then in the morning just rinse your face with warm water and use the cleansing milk before retiring.

The next step is a good moisturizer. I really like Dr Hauschka Rose Day Cream. This is for dry and sensitive skin and it moisturizes really well in the cold weather.

The next step is good exfoliation. This will help to keep your skin feeling good and looking great year round.  Make sure though not to over do it and, of course. I love Suki Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser. It really smoothes and softens skin. Use twice a week.

If you want to make you own great toner, then green tea is just perfect. Brew the tea, and let it cool. Then pour a glass over ice, use some on a cotton pad and apply to your face and eyes. Drink the rest and you will feel refreshed and also get some antioxidants as well.

Then of course for good skin hydration, (see my blog on natural skin hydration) drink lots of filtered water to keep your skin suple and fresh looking.

I hope that these steps for a natrual skincare routine will help you. So you have any tips of your own that you would like to share? Then please leave a comment below. All relavent comments will be published.
